About this event
This class MEETS July 12, 19, 26 & Aug. 9, 23, 30.
The hardest exercise in obedience is heeling. It takes many hours of practice to achieve consistent heeling from your dog. The dog must be positioned properly relative to the handler’s body, and the dog MUST be paying attention to its handler. Frequently, when the leash is gone, so is the dog… This class will give you an opportunity to improve your heeling AND your engagement with your dog. We will also address recalls, fronts, and finishes. The class is appropriate for dogs that are working at the Novice Obedience level OR permission of the instructor. Bring many small, various-valued treats, 4 or 6-ft. leash, and a flat, slip, or martingale collar.
