We require a minimum of 3 registered students to have this class.
Students must bring or email proof of rabies and DHLPP or DHPP shot records for EACH class they are enrolled in. Females in heat must wear appropriate diaper/panties and stay separated from other dogs–can be asked to leave if this is too disruptive. Please contact the class instructor by email if you have any questions.

About this event
Class meets 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26.
Prerequisites: STAR Puppy or dogs over the age of 11 months old at the start of class.
This is a combination class open to anyone with a dog 11 months or older. You will get to experience skills needed for both levels. They are very similar, Steps to CGC uses treats to LURE the behavior and gives a bit more time to function at CGC level, CGC uses treats to REWARD the behavior.
We will focus on skills learned in other classes and build on those skills with added duration and distance with distractions.
Skills will be:
Loose leash walking
Sit-stays
Down-stays
Come when called
Greet a stranger
It’s Yer Choice games for leave-it and impulse control
Distance Stays
Settle with calmness
Name equals attention
Body handling (grooming)
Drop-it and play.
Separation out of sight for 1 minute
Collar grab
Sit politely for petting
